• If I sign my youth up for Gather for Youth, will they be with me during Gather Conference?

  Gather for Youth is a youth-centric component of the Gather Conference, designed with family relationships in mind. Your youth will spend the bulk of Gather bonding with peers, while adults will primarily attend the main Gather Conference presentations. A few times during the conference, there will be special combined parent/youth events. The objective of these parent/youth exchanges will be to practice Christ’s Perfect Love by facilitating meaningful conversations that strengthen our bonds where it matters most: in the home. Gather for Youth is part of Gather Conference, and both will take place at the exact same venue, Utah Valley Convention Center. See the Gather for Youth 2025 schedule here

• Who is running GFY?

  GFY is a Gather-sponsored program and is organized by a number of adults and young adults who embody the GFY 2025 Theme: Perfect Love Casteth out Fear. All of our leaders and volunteers actively participate in the LGBTQIA+ space, whether that be as open community members, parents/mentors, or allies. As a policy, Gather runs background checks on all leaders and volunteers involved with GFY.

  At no time are youth alone with any leader and youth will have appropriate adult supervision at all times. Learn more about the Gather Team here.

• How will GFY be organized ? 

  Upon registering, GFY Youth will once again be assigned to Prides (small groups of peers). Each Pride will be led by a GFY Pride Leader (young adult volunteer). During GFY, your youth will be together in their Prides and as combined group. There will also be free time for crafting and games where youth from different Prides can get to know each other. • Is GFY the same as Belong?

  Gather for Youth / GFY is the official youth program of Gather and the Gather Conference. There is a separate youth program being offered by a different organization at a separate venue, which is called “Belong”. Belong was created by some of the former organizers of Gather for Youth who have established Belong as their own nonprofit youth program. Again, Belong is a separate organization that is not part of or associated with Gather for Youth/GFY, Gather, or the Gather Conference. Participants who wish to participate in the official Gather Conference program for youth should register for Gather Conference to be assigned to the Gather youth program during registration. Official Gather programs are advertised on this website and on official Gather and Lift+Love social media accounts, will be called be the official name “Gather” or “Gather for Youth/GFY” and will always include the Gather logo in the branding.

• Does GFY endorse Church participation?

  The Gather Conference is a Christ-centered gathering of souls with varying relationships with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, including those who are very active members, those who have complicated relationships with religion, and those who no longer participate in church. All are welcome and equally valued. At Gather, all journeys are honored and no single path is proposed as the “right” way. GFY embodies this same spirit. Although everything we do is centered on Jesus Christ, our only objective as leaders and volunteers is to help your youth feel seen, heard, and honored in their spiritual journey.
